A modern statue at a community college. We asked the administration office if we could set up a family history booth.
I've been out on a mission for one month!! Personally it has been a LONG month, but I'm told they start to fly by pretty soon.
I've grown a lot this week. I've realized lately how important having a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon is. The Book of Mormon is seriously so amazing! Haha a goal I have to prepare for general conference (by the way conference is going to be AMAZING and you should all listen to the prophet's invitation of how to prepare for it again) is to finish the Book of Mormon before conference. I restarted it in the MTC and so I read ten pages every day haha it's crazy. But literally that book is the best read it.
We had four people come to church with us this week!! A couple, Eugene and Jill, and their two little kids. I mentioned them a little last week but basically the husband was a member but has a lot of questions about the church and some bad experiences. They haven't been to church in more than five years, so it was AWESOME that they came. They even went with their kids to primary and met with the Bishop. I'm so excited for them. Sister Atkin and I are going to start teaching them all the lessons and help them regain their faith. It's crazy how as a missionary you can feel so much love for people that you've just met. And you just want them to realize how much their lives will be blessed by this gospel!! It's wild. I can't accurately describe what it's like to be a missionary - you just do it.
We had a lot of miracles this week! Found a lot of potential people to teach. God's timing is crazy. For example, this week we had a blitz (everyone in the zone goes to tract in one area for two hours). Sister Atkin and I knocked on one of the last doors and this girl (in her early twenties) came out crying! We didn't notice at first because it was dark. Turns out she was saying goodbye to her dog who was being put down the next day because of cancer. We had a wonderful conversation with her about Christ and gave her a Book of Mormon! I think it gave her a lot of comfort. She's not in our area so the elders will follow up with her. But really, there are no coincidences. God has a plan!
God has answered so many of my prayers! Really my testimony has just grown a lot this week it's crazy. You pray so much and so hard on the mission.
Haha the title of this email comes from a lady named Darla. The missionaries have met with her a lot and mostly do service for her. She's an old lady who lives alone and is SUPER granola. She has horses and says that nature is her religion. But she loves the missionaries! We are gonna try to get her to church haha, she has never met with Sisters before so we have an advantage since we can be inside her house with her.
I love you all! Prepare for conference!!
