Our House is Almost Finished & Another School Year is Over

I can’t describe  in words what it’s like to live in a brand new painted house. Everything feels so cheerful and bright! Yes we still have a bathroom and a bedroom to complete  but I don’t really care when they get finished. I just love my NEW house!!

A new print to add color to the room.

My dad’s painting.

Flowers from Mother’s Day
Still have to decorate with photos on top of book shelf.
More photo’s of the house will be added when I get the second floor of the house more organized. It’s painted but I’m reorganizing again.

The end of the school year happens next week and I have mixed feelings about it. I’m really going to miss the kids in Julie Holman’s Kindergarten class. They were so much fun and full of love.

I’m ready for a change of pace now. My hips have started hurting so instead of walking every day I’m going to focus riding my bike on the river trail. We are so blessed to live so close to the Provo river. The birds are always singing and the trees keep everything cool! I’m looking forward to sleeping in and taking naps if I need to. Plus there are more projects around the house and I can do more cooking from scratch.

For some reason this class was much easier this year than last years but I always end up loving every single child. Living close to an Elementary school has been such a blessing in my life. I will miss seeing Diane Anderson and Linda Gunn. Linda is retiring and Diane will not be coming back. They both have been such good friends and I will miss seeing them at work.

Diane
A beautiful friend and person.

These two cute boys didn’t know any English when they started school. Now they understand what we say in class and can communicate pretty well.  It amazes me every year how young students pick up on the English language before the school year ends.

I’ll probably end up only working four hours a day next fall verses six hours. I’m starting to feel pretty tired even working half of a day, must be my age. Summer break is almost here and I can’t wait. That means Jenny and JJ are coming to stay for six weeks! Yay!!

There is a great aide who covers the morning time at school . Her name is Alene Morris and then I take over right before lunch. It’s worked out perfect for us because all day Kindergarten is exhausting and I’m still working as a cross guard on Center street before and after school. My body feels finished at the end of the day so I’m ready for a slower pace. Plus Provo School District gives me a raise every year so I’ll be up to $23.00 an hour which has been a nice bonus!

GW and I got released from teaching Sunday School a few weeks ago.  It’s been just over two years keeping 11,12 and 13 year-olds interested in the scriptures. I’ve learned so much and I am grateful to have studied with Gary. He researched Come Follow Me lessons way better than I did. I’ll miss the kids for sure but it looks like Primary needs help with Activity Days so next week I’ll be sustained for something new.

Jessie and Dayna came to visit for three days in April. Jessie is now working two jobs. One at a sports store in the customer service office and the other is at a new ranch for teenage boys and girls just outside of Boise Idaho. Actually it’s a 45 minute drive to the ranch. Hope her car can handle it.🤞🏼

Julie finished another semester at UVU.

Only one more year to go in music then it’s Coleton’s turn.

Jacob had two interviews with Costco for surpervisor openings at headquarters in Seattle Washington. He is going on eleven years working for Costco in Spanish Fork. Jacob and Brittany only live 2 miles from us so we’ve enjoyed having them so close. Personally I feel they could use a new adventure and I would love spending time  in green Washington state! Such a beautiful place!!

Now for just an update on world news. Ukraine is still fighting Russia which blows my mind. I never thought it would last this long. My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine. So many families have had to pack up and move from their homes. If it weren’t for America and some of the European countries Russia would be running Ukraine right now.  I hope there is and end in sight soon.🙏🏽

Another terrible incident happened last fall on October 7, 2023. A group of Israeli people were attacked at a Kibbutz in Israel by Hamas terrorist near the Gaza strip. There was a music festival going on  and men, women and children were beaten, killed and taken as hostages. Some have been released over the months and three dead hostage bodies were just discovered yesterday by Israeli solders. Netanyahu the leader of Israel has been fighting Hamas to try and get the hostages back. I feel he is a great leader and is going through terrible pressure from other leaders and people who want him to stop fighting Hamas. In fact there has been several protest on University campuses in America shouting for Israel to stop. But why I ask? Yes war is terrible. Lots of people are suffering but Israel wants their people set free and Hamas refuses to let the hostages go. So I will continue to support and pray for Benjamin Netanyahu and the people of Israel.
