San Diego Part 2

Opening a few gifts Christmas Eve in our Hotel.
Christmas day we attended three sacrament meetings. We were able to meet several members and investigators that Jessie has grown to love and admire. The first sacrament meeting we attended was at the Pacific Beach ward.  I sang a duet with Jess called "In The Bleak Midwinter". Julz was our accompanist.

This young man played the most beautiful musical number on his cello.

Jessie's former choir teacher Mr. Wiser from Provo High was vacationing in San Diego as well.

 Poway Stake Building

After church services we visited three families around Poway California and then we went for Christmas dinner at the McBride's near La Jolla.
We ate the yummiest homemade tamales ever!
I felt genuine love from this wonderful couple. Christmas 2016 will be remembered for a long time.
December 26th
Monday afternoon we went to the Mormon Battalion

 Panning for gold.

Jen was starting to get a chill so she wrapped herself up pretty good.

For dinner we walked to "Old Town" and ate at the Coyote Cafe. The food was delicious and the girls had fun shopping in the small gift stores.

After Old Town we went and visited the Ward family and found out we were related. I told them my baby brother goes by his middle name Ward. He was named after our Ward ancestors who settled in Willard Utah. Sure enough their ancestors were from the same place. Small World.
