My Health Journey

Started July of 2019
211 pounds
Cholesterol  290
My doctor wants me to start taking Cholesterol pills. I'm trying to get healthier to see if I can avoid them.
The only way I've had some success lately is keeping my heart rate above 130 at the gym, six days a week, for at least 35 minutes, or walking around BYU campus. I'm also lifting weights a little bit at a time.
My diet consist of cutting back on sugars and carbs, and consuming lots of salads and fruit. Basically counting calories. For me there are no short cuts, no newly developed hormone shots or food packets. I really like food! I enjoy cooking for my family and desserts are my favorite. I’ve cut way back to try and eat more moderately.
If I don't make it to the gym I walk around BYU campus. There’s something about being outside and breathing the fresh air.

 August 207.8 pounds
Caught a bad cold from Kindergarten the end of September. I was out of commission through October
Lost another two pounds in November.
Now I'm at 205.6
My goal is to maintain from Thanksgiving to Christmas. If I lose more pounds that would be a gift for me. The next two weeks at school will be very busy, so I will try and stay on top of the stress.
I'll also work on being positive and saying kind words to myself.
