Sister Oregon February 2020

Hello everyone!

I FLY TO OREGON IN LESS THAN A WEEK! Sister Young and I fly out Wednesday morning! Most of our district leaves Monday. That will be a very sad goodbye.

So Dalton, (our very Catholic TRC from last week) stopped us in the middle of our last lesson with him Friday and asked, "So... What's the point!? Why should I believe in your Book of Mormon?" That guy does not beat around the bush. We had to do some very quick soul searching haha but the lesson ended VERY well and he was pretty touched. But I think that's an awesome question that everyone should consider! What's the point? Why?

We are teaching our new TRC, Hannah, much better than Dalton because A.) She doesn't ask us really intense questions about Catholic church history and B.) We have had class way longer so we actually know how to teach. We were only in the MTC five days when we started teaching Dalton soooo very inexperienced there. You know what they say: baptism by fire. Best way to learn. We are supposed to role play our lessons before we teach, so we pretend my water bottle is a person and teach it. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Highlight of this week was our Sunday Devotional because none other than Mike Carson (my piano teacher since I was about five and organ teacher!) was fabulously playing the organ for the whole meeting. We got to talk after! Also the BYU Men's chorus sang at the devotional and it was the best. Sharon Eubank gave our Tuesday devotional - I loooove hearing her speak. This next Tuesday JEFFERY R HOLLAND is coming! A sister in my district has a brother who works here and he told us that (usually they don't announce devotional speakers until you get there). I'm so excited to hear him speak!

I can't believe I'm leaving the MTC so soon. I've had sooo much fun here and I love my district so much! But I'm excited to go out and serve!
