Sister Oregon

So it’s already my p day! Surprise! I know you all already missed me so much (after only 48 hours). Since it has only been two days since I’ve been in here it was kind of a weird p day, we had workshops mostly.

I don’t have really a lot of time but here are some fun facts:
1. I love being a missionary.
2. I’m in a trio! Three times the fun. My companions hail from the great state Arizona and I love them! Sister Maycock is headed to Boise Idaho (she reminds me a TON of Liz Hikes my old YW leader!) and Sister Young is headed to Salem with me (she totally looks like Kirsten when she puts her hair up).
3. Any missionary can buy a gallon of chocolate milk here for 2 dollars. An entire gallon.
4. There are two Elder Carlsons in my branch/zone! Apparently it’s the last name to have in our branch haha. Actually tonight one of them was trying to make a joke about how I was wearing the same dress that was in my missionary portal picture, but it TANKED. He just randomly said “Hey Sister Carlson, I feel like I’ve seen you in that dress before...” and suddenly everyone in the room was uncomfortable. I just said “uh I wore it this morning I guess” and when he had to explain his joke the  other elders shook their head and patted his back. We all had a good laugh about it.
5. There are so many people here that have such strong testimonies and you can just feel the love they have for us, ESPECIALLY our branch presidency and their fabulous wives! We just barely met them today and I already love them, I’m excited to go to church Sunday.
6. We are not allowed to touch anyone!! If it wasn’t enough that you can only shake hands, there is a no TOUCH rule in the MTC right now. Apparently everyone is getting sick, and some Elders and Sisters are even quarantined in their apartments with influenza. Wash your hands everyone.
7. If you imagine Russel from UP growing up and doing band and choir and then going on a mission that is one of the Elders in my district. He cracks me up. He also reminds me of the Ockey boys haha.
8. I haven’t gotten used to being called Sister Carlson yet haha.
9. I saw brother Stephenson and he made my trio teach a small lesson to a “member” in front of a large class.

I hope you enjoyed these random thoughts, we didn’t have much time today to write. We didn’t get to visit the computer lab so this is me jotting things down on my phone. I’ve only been here two days. I love all of you so much!! I’ll write next p day (Thursday).
