Our mission president and his wife have really emphasized that, while simply posting to post on Facebook is fine and dandy, we need to be focusing on using it as a tool to find people to teach.
So how have Sister Fillmore and I been doing that? Well recently we posted a video of a song I wrote about Christ - when we posted it to our zone page, Followers of Jesus Christ in Central Oregon, it got a ton of views. What does that mean?
Sister Fillmore have been going through the people from the Oregon page that have liked or commented on it and messaging people that we Facebook stalk and think are non members. (Does that sound creepy??)
Well, you might be saying to yourself "Wow Julie *ahem* Sister Carlson that is... pretty weird." Well guess what it WORKED. So far we are seriously talking to this one guy. Turns house he is actually lives in Bulgaria and is Christain! We contacted some Sisters in Bulgaria to join a lesson (and help translate cause he only speaks some broken English) we are having with him tomorrow! If he starts progressing after a few lessons we will of course pass him to the Bulgarian missionaries. But yeah that is our miracle of the week.
Honestly the work is going pretty good here! We have two people that we might put on date VERY soon (the couple who had their records removed, so it would be a re-baptism). Literally I think that it is very likely they will get baptized this next transfer, so exciting! We also have some potentials who we are hoping to start teaching the lessons.
Transfer calls are Friday. Sister Fillmore and I are really hoping we stay here in Bend, but you never know!
Something crazy is that we are preparing for the amount of missionaries in our mission to basically DOUBLE these next four transfers.We are going to start getting a ton of missionaries (around 100) that are being reassigned stateside from foriegn missions. Crazy!
