Memoir from Mar C #givethanks

The prophet asked everyone to post something we are thankful for on social media for seven days. These are the things I posted on Facebook.

I am thankful for nature.

I am thankful for Temples.

I am thankful for my Aunt Lois.

This is a photo of my mother’s siblings. They are very dear to me. The person in the middle is my Aunt Lois. She took me into her home for a short while thirty-one years ago. It was a difficult time in my life and she treated me like I was one of her own children. I will always be grateful. We all have our trials in this life. I hope to reach out and help other’s like my Aunt Lois did for me. #givethanks

I am thankful for my bike, and the beautiful river trail near my home where I can ride it!🚴🏻‍♀️

Music and Mike Carson
I am thankful for music. It has been a great blessing throughout my entire life. My family was honored to have a wonderful piano teacher in our home for many years. He was patient, kind and strict. I miss hearing our children practice day after day, but I also miss Mike Carson coming to our home week after week sharing many of his gifts. He will be remembered for a long time!

I am thankful for my mom. She had a very giving heart. I look forward to seeing her again someday.

I am thankful for Family and Friends.

For my last day on social media of giving thanks, I have decided to add one more thing I am thankful for and that is work. It sounds like a pretty straight forward word to me. In the dictionary it says something that needs to be done or dealt with.

I am grateful to be able to wake up five days out of the week and go to work as an Elementary School Aide. The atmosphere is uplifting and happy most of the time. Granted there are challenging moments, but I enjoy being around fun loving kids who are learning to work and play. There are also many adults that work at my school who I look up to. They have been great examples to me and I hope to always strive to have a good work ethic like them.
Keeping my faith takes work. Working on projects at home can be fun work for me. My relationship with family and friends is a lot of work, but worthwhile. A desire to change and do better as a person is always a work in progress. But at the end of the day, I hope to be able to remember to give thanks to my Heavenly Father for work.
