I don't really know how or why but this week was packed with miracles. I honestly have been so excited about missionary work that sometimes it was hard for me to eat or sleep hahaha.
We literally found FIVE people to teach this week. Two of them were random people that friend requested us on Facebook. One guy, Eric, is this author writing a book about Christ who wanted to interview us about our religion. He had a bunch of random questions and apologized that we get called a cult/sometimes not included as "Christains". It was cool, at the end of the call we bore our testimonies on eternal families and a living prophet. He totallllllyy felt the Spirit and asked how he could get a copy of the Book of Mormon. We talked with the missionaries where he lives and set it up!
Another person we found was George. Literally we had some service cancel and felt like we should go walk around this particular neighborhood. After 15 minutes of walking, straight up nobody was outside so we went to leave. Then we ran unto George on the way to our car and talked for an HOUR. He is GOLDEN. So prepared to hear the gospel and really at a crossroads in his life.
Mark, our friend on date for this month, started his family tree this week and WOWOW he was like a kid in a candy store. He was ecstatic to do his family history, it was so cute. He told us he was amazed at how much his life has already changed and could barely sleep he was so excited. I've been teaching Mark for the past four months and it is amazing how much that guy has changed - the gospel has truly given him something to live for.
Halloween! My comp and I dressed up as the one and only Jerry Shinkle. He is an iconic old "grumpy" man in our ward who is basically at all of our lessons because he is our fellowshipper for everyone. I LOVE this man hahaha. We have a group chat with the other missionaries serving here called "The Jerry Shinkle Fam Club". Too good.
Things are awesome! Here's a favorite quote from this week
“The conversion [Jesus] required for those who would enter the kingdom of heaven was far more than just being converted to testify to the truthfulness of the gospel. To testify is to know and to declare. The gospel challenges us to be ‘converted,’ which requires us to DO and to BECOME. If any of us relies solely upon our knowledge and testimony of the gospel, we are in the same position as the blessed but still unfinished Apostles whom Jesus challenged to be ‘converted’."
