Engine & Tire Challenges around Wyoming.

Wyoming

We got all packed and was on our way to Alpine Wyoming. We left Provo Utah at 10:30 am. Ten miles before Evanston our trailer tire blew out. A woman in a large van was waving to us on the highway motioning for us to pull over. When GW looked through his side mirrors he could see smoke. Luckily there were no wrecks and we were able to pull safely over to the side of the road.
It took about three hours to get the tire replaced thanks to one of GW’s dam tender friend’s from Wanship Dam in Utah.
After getting our tire fixed by the side of a busy highway we stopped in Evanston to buy a new tire so we could have a spare tire on hand. Forty-five minutes out of Evanston our engine quit working. We were just ten miles from Cokeville, Wyoming. Once again I could see white smoke behind us but this time it was coming out of the Ford Excursion exhaust.
Thanks to Triple-A we were towed for free for a hundred miles!! The bad news is we didn’t get home to Provo until 4:00 am in the morning. It’s been a while since I pulled an all nighter. We were very tired and thanks again to another dam tender ( Mark Rawle ) who rescued us at Wanship Dam around 2:30 am in the morning. Dam tender’s and tow trucks have become my new heroes!
