Update on things! I was in a trio this week covering two areas until transfers. It was hard at first without Sister Atkin but actually turned out to be SUPER fun! Love Sister Child and Sister Porter :').
My new companion came Friday! She is follow up training me. Sister Fillmore has a gorgeous voice and is in love with musical theater! Stay tuned to that Facebook for some music videos.
So general conference answered so many prayers. Watching it as a missionary is so cool because you have so many people you are teaching and listening for things that could help them. I liked how President Eyring mentioned that for him, conference was unforgettable because of his preparation. It was "hingepoint in my own personal history". That's really how I feel! I finished the Book of Mormon, read Saints, and listened to the Joseph Smith Papers podcasts, and honestly my testimony has grown SO MUCH.
We watched conference with the Mt Bachelor sisters because they have wifi in their apartment. We were all sitting on a mattress with our tiny phone set up on a chair in front of us. When it was time to do the Hosanna shout, we all stood up on the mattress and waved our hands because we didn't have a handkerchief. But it was so spiritual, especially singing The Spirit of God.
ALSO I definitely was crying so hard during that last song with the world wide choir. SO powerful.
Ok, now onto the BEST PART of my week. Why Saturday was one of the best days ever.
If any of you recall people I talk about in these emails, you might remember Eugene and Jill. Basically Sister Atkin and I had been working with them from day 1 - they were members but had their records removed over 5 years ago. At first, Eugene had this HUGE list of questions about the church. When we worked with them more, Jill decided she wanted to be rebaptized! But we found out Eugene felt that he had denied the Holy Ghost and was literally going to hell. Straight up outer darkness to be a son of perdition. Isn't that so sad??
He was completely convinced that God hated him and he was going to the pit for a long time. Last lesson I asked him to read Alma 36. He told Sister Fillmore and I on Saturday he had read it, and got on his knees to tell God he was done being so hard hearted and ready to try to come back.
I was so happy! But it only got better!! At the end of the lesson, he turned to Jill and said, "What do you think we get rebaptized together?" She was so surprised! You guys I can't even express my emotions - I literally wanted to cry my eyes out. We called our ward mission leader (the homeslice Brother Argyle haha) right away and he was also so so happy.
So yeah that is why this weekend has been the best thing ever.
Love you guys! Thanks to all you sweet people who sent me an email last week :) I definitely was having a bit if a hard time there but all is well now.
Goodbye threesome.
