Sister Oregon

Hello everyone!

The weather here in Bend is getting SO PRETTY. Sister Fillmore and I go run outside in the mornings and I feel like I'm waking up from camping. There is an ABUNDANCE of pine trees here and so many birds chirping in the morning. It is beautiful.

Sister Fillmore and I have been doing a lot of musical things lately which has been a BLESSING. She wants to major in Musical Theater at UVU and has a beautiful voice. We were very grateful to make a video of "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" to post on Facebook for Easter.

Another thing Sister Fillmore and I have been doing is turning scriptures into little short songs haha. We asked the sisters in our zone to send us their favorite scriptures, so whenever we have some free time we whoop out the guitar. Speaking of the guitar I'm learning how to play it here in quarantine haha, not that good yet but we are getting there.

Lessons have been great this week! Literally member and non-member lessons are my favorite part of the day. We do then all over Facebook or Zoom and the Spirit is always just as strong. Another thing that keeps me sane is laughter - I'm very grateful that Sister Fillmore and I get along really well and laugh together a lot.

Easter was an amazing day. I had the sacrament for the first time in a month. The zone leaders came and blessed the bread and water for us in our apartment. We had so many big mismatched cups for the water and an old blue plate with broken bread on it. But the ordinance is the same. I tried really hard to remember my Savior and felt that God was with me. It was a really unique experience.

Honestly I'm really grateful to be on a mission right now. There are so many people struggling with everything going on, and our entire purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ and help them feel that peace and joy.
