My 60th Birthday

The cool thing for me this summer I guess is that I turned 60 years old! Once again my family celebrated on the 4th of July. Which is fine with me since everyone is off work and it's more convenient. GW did take me to see "The Other Side of Heaven 2" on the 3rd of July. It was very good and we should have taken more tissues. I love watching inspirational movies and I would place this movie at the top of my favorites.

We've been very busy this past week.  Jacob and Brittany put their town home up for sale and put an offer on a twin home just one street east of where they live. They have been very busy cleaning and moving lots of furniture into storage.

I remember those days when we were moving into different homes. Feelings of excitement and lots of stress at the same time.  Now all we can do is pray and hope.
Jen and JJ got to drive to California in June. One of Jenny's missionary companions got married so that was a fun quick trip for them.

Jess and Jesse made some big decisions as of yesterday. Jesse Samuel has decided to transfer from BYU over to UVU where Jessie, his wife is already a student. Jesse Samuel will also be changing majors from Psychology to Computer Science. Hopefully they will be able to graduate around the same time together. Now he can keep growing a beard like his brothers'.

Coleton got his mission call to Iowa City, Iowa. He leaves September 18th.
Julie seems to be busy getting all her missionary papers completed so she can prepare to go serve on a mission after Coleton leaves. I think these two are really going to miss each other. Luckily they can grow together by writing and sharing their experiences as missionaries.

For the summer Julie is teaching small children swimming lessons at Swim Academy near our home on Geneva Road. The Academy teaches lots of babies and toddlers to float. At first Julie was a little overwhelmed and surprised at how many young children were naturally picking up on the floating thing. She was pretty nervous during her first week of training. Now she seems to be a pro and looks forward to going to her job every day. Julie also has two students that are taking piano lessons from her as well.

Now for GW and I.. We just finished another big project yesterday. We finally finished putting up a white vinyl fence on the north side of our house. We are storing a trailer next to the fence that we put our four wheelers on when we go on trips. Needless to say it was very hard work for GW. We purchased all the materials and then rented a huge fence drill for all the holes so we could cement the post in. Thanks to some close friends we were able to get the fence up in one week. Unfortunately the weather was pretty warm so I stuck around to make sure water and drinks were available. I also came in handy for small errands, tools, or whatever else was needed.

All we have left to finish is to put the trailer back by the house and build a nice vinyl gate.
I had to take some photos of my daisies now that they are in full bloom.

Here are some photo's from my birthday party.  Jenny and JJ cooked some delicious chicken and beef curry. Our barbecue smoker died so it was fun and tasty trying something different.
Afterwards Julie and Coleton went to Stadium of Fire and the rest of us went to see the new Toy Story movie which was great!
GW was in charge of handing out napkins since the wind was crazy.

My friend Pam was able to attend which meant a lot. We had to rush her home afterwards due to a storm. The weather in the evening seemed much colder for the 4th of July.
After the movie two of my brothers called. It was so nice to visit with them. I also received nice cards and treats from friends. I have so much to be grateful for.
