Memoir from Me "Warmer Weather"

Day 1
The warm weather is coming and I'm trying to get prepared. To start off with I'm doing the "Master Lemon Cleanse". Hopefully I can do the recommended ten days but I'll probably only do seven.  Not necessarily to lose weight but to help me feel better about myself. Most of my clothes are feeling snug and I can't afford to buy new ones. I really like comfort food when the weather is cold, but when it starts to get warm I dislike feeling uncomfortable.  So I do a cleanse to get rid of my cravings for chocolate, yummy carbs and ice cream. I always seem to put on five pounds every winter and then when spring comes I want to bounce back into a healthier life style.

Today I started the cleanse and I haven't even made a lemon drink yet. It's already 3:09 pm.  I guess my body is just tired of eating and needs to fast. I have been drinking lots of water and I took an herbal laxative this morning. I skipped the required salt water flush with sea salt because I just didn't feel up to it. But one thing I am feeling already is some peace of mind and a little relaxation.  Whats with that, usually I only like fasting once a month on Fast Sundays but today I just need a break from thinking about what to cook for dinner. I get so tired of the same routine day after day and when I do a cleanse I feel like I'm on a new adventure. Life seems exciting again and I haven't even gone any where physically.

So let the games begin!  In the past I've only done three day cleanses, but this time I'm going longer. Apparently the book says after three days my energy will be at a higher level. I'll have to wait and see about that.

Dear Family,
Wednesday we went out to K's trailer that is going to be demolished
and finished up salvaging everything that could be salvaged. Family
history stuff was hidden everywhere! We found an irreparable banjo
that the Elders wanted to break, so they took a video breaking it to
pieces. Friday after weekly planning we helped move the boxes of
things and the fridge to a storage unit. That was the thing that took
the longest. Some people that were going to come canceled, and another
was called away to give a blessing to a lady in our Ward who had a
heart attack, so there were less people than anticipated. Because of
the emergency, the trailer was pulled by a minivan instead of a truck.
We had a tarp, but on top of that it was raining. The minivan couldn't
back up to K's trailer cause it was all muddy and would have gotten
stuck. So we had to carry or drag everything across the muddy acre on
the rain to the trailer on the street. So what was a 2 hour project
turned to 4. But you can totally see the change in K. A burden has
literally been lifted off her shoulders!!
Last Monday was her birthday (she turned 50) and we had a lesson with
her when p-day was over. Her landlord came over on her birthday and
told her she needed to be out of the small house she was living in by
the end of the month. So now all the stuff we've been moving out of
her trailer AND most everything in her house has to go into storage.
Miracles happening with K! While we were cleaning we found an LDS quad
she was so excited!! Change of heart :)
Our stake showed Handell's Messiah at the stake center on Saturday.
K called and asked if we could go with her. They only showed one of
the three hours of it. I liked it! I don't know if I would ever watch
the full thing if it wasn't in a concert setting and gators were
coming. Wheu! My favorite opera person was the tenor who made all the
faces. Mac Wilburg must have really buff shoulders and arms.

We spent Easter at the Burnetts house. They fed us wonderful briscutt
and let us go hunt eggs with their kids. There were these little slugs
in their lawn and a lot of them got in the plastic eggs through the
holes in the top and bottom. It was really fun!
Anyway. At a District P-Day and everyone wants to play volleyball. Got
to stop here!

The butter was painted by Sister Brown. A young couple just moved into
the Ward because the Naval Airbase is nearby. She loves butter. The
Buddha pictures were encouraged by our tour guide. The guy with the
glasses is the one who made the building of the temple possible.

Hey y'all!
Hope everybody had a great week! Hope Jessie had a great birthday! It
was Sister Crowtons birthday yesterday, so shout out to her! That's
awesome to hear about Nathan! Neuroscience with a minor in Mandarin?
Wheu! I bet he's glad he gets a little break. Please tell me he gets a
break!
This was a really fun week. The church's Easter campaign on Facebook
is really cool. Don't know if it official, but I think it's nice...for
some reason today my brain is working slow. This happens every week to
some degree. Tons of stuff happens, and then I'm looking at a blank
email that I have to fill up and my mind turns into a blank slate. I
always ask my companion, "What are you writing about? What happened
this week?" The days just run together.
Tuesday we helped a lady in our Ward who just had twins get her house
in order. The babies were in the hospital cause they have to grow a
little bit more before they can come home, which is good, cause these
people are totally unprepared. All these people having babies when
they can't even take care of themselves. "Children having children, it
makes no sense!" (From the Mormon message for youth: "I Choose to be
Pure") Not that these people are children. I guess if everyone waited
till they were perfectly ready before having kids, nations would go
extinct.

Wednesday night was nifty. I guess everyone was fired up from General
Conference cause we got at least two referrals at class and a new
gator. (The week before there wasn't any people there!) A lady in our
Ward brought her daughters boyfriend to Wednesday night mutual last
week. He went with the YM and all they talked about was camping. He
was not interested. 

First of all, I'd like to extend a happy Birthday to JESSIE!!!!!!

You have something coming in the mail, but it's going to be late...so
in the mean time, gonna send a video to you!
Wednesday we helped K by cleaning her trailer that she used to live
in 5 years ago. She moved out because holes were developing in the
floor, so animals were coming in and out. She left when her bathtub
fell through. We helped her take everything in the living room and
kitchen areas out by the side of the road to be dumped, and scavenging
through books to find her family history research so she can scan it.
I can see why it would occupy her kind a lot. She doesn't own the land
and the owners want to demolish the trailer. She seemed really
relieved! I'm so glad we could help her.
